Personality:
Alaric ("Ric" to friends) is the sort of guy who's seen too many things. He's lived a life that feels like it's gone on for about a century, and each little pain has left its own mark. He's fiercely protective of those he's declared his family, even though his efforts often end in more corpses than he'd like to admit. He's been married and engaged more than one man should be, but each time he commits, his beloved tends to be brutally murdered. The loss has come to define him, for better or worse.
He wants to be a man who forgives. So he's found it in himself to set aside his bias against vampires and accept one as his best friend. He nearly married a witch, and is currently raising two magically-gifted twin daughters. He's found a way to make peace with the man who killed his first wife and tortured his friends for years, and has been raising his daughter alongside his own, hoping to instill in her enough goodness to allow her to make better choices than her father. He opened a school for supernatural young people so that they will never have to make the kinds of choices he did.
But he's also a vengeful man. When the eyes of the innocent are away, he'll kill. He'll hide a body or cover up a massacre. He'll silence a witness if one of his young vampires has an accident, and has recently found himself in some trouble with the local sheriff about this growing habit.
Being in hell won't be a surprise, but it might also be fascinating for a man who's styled his life after an Indiana Jones pastiche. Occult scholar by day, adventurer by night, there's an odd sort of fascination to the materials at hand. It could be comfortable, in its own way.
Weaknesses/Temptations:
But is there booze though. Alaric has been a functioning alcoholic for decades, and has settled into accepting it as his vice of choice. Liquor is a way for him to dull the intense sensations of loss and pain that would be crippling otherwise. It's better than therapy, and when it runs out he can always get more from the store. It's like a lover, but more stable.
He's also incredibly attached to the people he's lost. In the past, his dead fiancee (and mother of his daughters) was resurrected almost explicitly to force him to lower his guard and make it easier to steal a valuable magic artifact. His family is everything, and many would consider that a weakness.

- Stealing the future from young adults through excessive punishments

Powers/Abilities: As far as innate natural abilities go, Alaric is only as powerful as a middleaged human man might be. He's in fairly good shape, as training superpowered young people tends to keep a man spry and ready for combat, but age has a particular means of creating cracking knees and a creaky spine every now and again.
A note here though, as there's the chance that it might come up in an event somewhere down the line: though Ric is currently a full human, there was a period about fifteen years ago where he was killed and resurrected as an overpowered super vampire. He got better, but it might be the subject of some mod question threads if a "the corpse of your dead body starts running around wrecking stuff" event happens. Just figured it was worth a quick link here even if it never comes into play!
